In this series you’ll focus on the fundamentals: hips, shoulders and core. Learning to practice yoga with confidence means knowing how to be in the right place at the right time, engaging the right muscles and relaxing accordingly. When you learn how to use your hips, shoulders and core in the proper way, you will always be in the right place at the right time,. allowing you to feel the right way when you need it.

Each week’s particular focus

Week 1

Hips

  • learn to differentiate between your feelings and emotions

  • become mindful of what is present in the pose

  • discover that flow originates from within

  • ground your movement into your hips

Week 2

Shoulders

  • open and close your heart space

  • squeeze and release the tension throughout your body

  • stress and relief from your lungs

  • listening to your body through your breath

Week 3

Core

  • find your inner strength

  • embrace your power

  • identify the choices you’re making

  • kindle your inner fire

Week 4

Integration

  • come to know yourself as whole

  • develop a relationship with your whole self

  • learn to negotiate into and out of poses

  • expand your horizons of what is possible
